The Bev 1-12 occurrence is located on Adoogacho Creek, approximately 25 kilometres west of Chukachida Lake and about 263 kilometres north-northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The area is underlain by porphyritic andesites and andesitic microbreccias of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group, which have been intruded by porphyritic dacites and Early Jurassic quartz diorites. Locally, the diorite contains up to 20 per cent pyrite, though generally the content is less than 5 per cent. Minor chalcopyrite mineralization is noted in limonitic float.

In 1973, the Bev 1-12 claims were staked to cover an area where chalcopyrite mineralization in limonitic volcanic float was located near a large gossan zone. A program of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling was performed the following year by Union Miniere. Prior to this, Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd. undertook stream sediment sampling over a large area which included the current claims; one stream sediment sample from the drainage central to the claims contained 500 parts per million (ppm) copper and 20 ppm molybdenum (Property File - Booth, 1964). Both Kerr Addison Mines and Amax Exploration held claims in the immediate area in 1970 and 1972, respectively (Property File - Dyson, 1975).

In 1985, the Toodoggone Syndicate completed a program of rock and soil sampling on the area immediately southeast as the Gaucho and Suet claims. The following year, a 178 line-kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey was completed.

In 1988, work in the vicinity included geological and geochemical surveys completed by Prolific Resources Ltd. within and immediately south of the Bev area. A sample of quartz-barite veining from the Mike claim, located approximately 1.5 kilometres to the south, yielded 0.104 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18465). Toodoggone Gold Inc. undertook an airborne geophysical survey over claims to the west in 1988.

In 1997, the Adoo 1-4 claims were staked in the area for R. Heard and a reconnaissance of the claims area and a limited sampling program was completed. Five rock samples were taken from the gossan area north and south of the principal west-flowing drainage; gold values were anomalous with values of up to 0.127 gram per tonne gold from talus samples of silicified volcanic rocks containing pyrite and minor malachite staining (sample 1-82514; Assessment Report 25712).

In 2006, A. Birkeland collected five stream sediment samples (moss mat where possible) and ten rock chip samples from three areas on the Gaucho claims. Several samples were taken to the southwest of the plotted location of the Bev claims. Anomalous copper values were obtained from several rock samples from the limited sampling that was conducted. Two rock chip samples (128812 and 128813), taken 700 metres to the south, yielded 0.473 and 0.337 per cent copper with 6.0 and 2.1 grams per tonne silver, respectively, and two samples (12814 and 12816) taken approximately 1 kilometre to the north yielded values of up to 0.149 per cent copper and 10.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 29313). The data indicated possible porphyry copper-gold exploration targets.
